If you have
children between the ages of 8 and 13, chances are you know Steve
Burns as the host of Nickelodeon's “Blues Clues.” Burns played
Steve, a 20-something guy living in a cartoon world, solving simple
mysteries with the show's main character, a dog named Blue.
Burns put away his
handy-dandy notebook and left the dog and the show behind a couple of
years ago to pursue his real love: music. His first album, “Songs for
Dustmites,” got a lot of respect in the indie-rock world, and not only
because it was produced by the Flaming Lips' engineer and co-producer,
Dave Fridmann.
Live, Burns
augments his indie-rock with some graphic embellishments and a stirring
light show. Saturday night, he, his band and his visual showcase will be
at the Bottleneck, 737 New Hampshire in Lawrence. Advance tickets to the
18-and-older show cost $8.
