He's Got a Clue
July 28, 1999

Chances are, someone in your family loves Blue's Clues, the popular Nickelodeon TV show in which Steve Burns and his animated dog, Blue, guide preschoolers through fun, problem-solving adventures. We talked with the 25-year-old Burns during a video shoot for Blue's Treasure Hunt, a CD-ROM that debuts this month from Humongous Entertainment.

Q: Now that you have one of the top-rated kids' TV show, do people ask for your autograph?
A: Kids don't recognize me if I'm not wearing my green-striped shirt, but parents stop me all the time.

Q: How much do you use technology?
A: I mainly use my computer for word processing, but I also use e-mail and I like the Sony PlayStation.

Q: Have you ever played any of the Blue's Clues games?
A: I have, but I find it too weird to click on myself.

Q: Last year, a rumor swept the Internet saying you had died. How do you feel about that?
A: There's a lot of cynicism in this country. If something is too pleasant, people want to corrupt it. Four-year-olds don't need to hear that kind of stuff.
