I live on the 15th floor
There's a little man outside my door
He says he feels like banana peels
And it makes him laugh when I fall down

When I Fall Down

I gotta friend who understands
She's all stretched out like rubber bands
She never knows where she's gonna go
But she’s happy when, she drives around
With the windows down

I live on the 15th floor
There's a little man outside my door
He says he feels like banana peels
And it makes him laugh when I fall down

When I Fall Down

When I Fall Down's mixable audio files got fried when the
angels took my 40 gig hard drive. It rests in peace on
heaven's 15th floor
 – Steve Burns

Paul Ford briefly described what happened in his
Falling Off a Truck
piece on Ftrain

Manchild to base, come in, over
We seem to have some sort of a situation here at the club
We’re not really sure what it is, ahh, but it is picking up all the ladies
Ahh, it appears to be some sort of Alpha Male
Request back up

Hey wait, maybe I should be dumb
Start sucking on my thumb
Get really into my hair
Dance like I’m into Cher

I know it's not supposed to be fair
I no longer care
And I refuse to fail
Gonna be your Alpha Male
Yeah, Yeah
Be your Alpha Male

Boom Shucka Uckla
Boom Shucka Uckla

Give me the reasons, I've heard it all before
I'd be cuter if I wasn't so short
But you won't be so sure
When we're walking out the door

I know it's not supposed to be fair
I no longer care
And I refuse to fail
Gonna be your Alpha Male
Yeah, Yeah
Be your Alpha Male

[ instrumental ]

Gonna be your Alpha Male

Yeah Yeah

Be your Alpha Male
Be your Alpha Male
Be your Alpha Male

I Wanna Be Your Alpha Male was first posted on Mp3.com on January 23rd, 2001 and then removed for a short while and put back, on January 28th, 2001.  The reason it was removed was because "some of the vocals were bad and he wanted to fix it".  If anyone managed to download a copy of the original version back then
- you have a collector's item.

Hi, we're on, cool

I'm big enough to reach the door
I'm young enough, but I'm still bored
I'm unimpressed
I'm under whelmed
I'm underdressed
I look like hell
I exist in multiple forms
I project my will
I can feel your weight
I can be seen from space

Nobody else is stronger than I am
Yesterday I moved a mountain
I bet I could be your hero
I am a mighty little man

I am revised
I am brand new
I try not - I do - or I do not
I'm indomitable
Walking down the street like I'm 40 feet tall
I have drawn form appropriate sources
I am louder than bombs

Nobody else is stronger than I am
Yesterday I moved a mountain
I bet I could be your hero
I am a mighty little man

Nobody else is stronger than I am
Yesterday I moved a mountain
I bet I could be your hero
I am a mighty little man

I am a mighty little man
I am a mighty little man

[ instrumental ]

can I?....can I play?....can I?....can I play too?

I'm old enough to understand
I APPROVE OF WHAT I AM
I am informed
I am aware
I fill the screen
But I'm not there
I am proof of negative space
I am sleep deprived
I can juggle fire
I have my mother's eyes

Nobody else is stronger than I am
Yesterday I moved a mountain
I bet I could be your hero
I am a mighty little man

Nobody else is stronger than I am
Yesterday I moved a mountain
I bet I could be your hero
I am a mighty little man

I am a mighty little man
I am a mighty little man

I am a mighty little man
I am a mighty little man
I am a mighty little man

well. here's the story. the "original" Mighty Little Man wasn't ever really intended to be a song. It was an exercise I was doing to learn how to use my music editing software. If you listen closely you can tell it is just one two chord loop over and over. I put words to it because I wanted to test my new microphones! LOL... Anyway the chorus stayed with me (catchy...ain't it?). I went to Tarbox Road studios and I "wrote" the rest of the music and words in Fredonia. The new one is less autobiographical.

[sniff] [cough] [cough], [sniff] [sniff] [sniff] [cough]
[sniff] [cough] [cough], [sniff] [sniff] [sniff] [cough]
[sniff] [cough] [cough], [sniff] [sniff] [sniff] [cough]

I'd need a reason
To see you again
Give me a reason
Let's not be friends

Running around was better than this
I'd rather die alone than live like this

I'd need a reason
To see you again
Give me a reason
Let's not be friends

We can role around on my floor
That's what it's for

We can role around on my floor
That's what it's for

took about 2 hours to do, start to finish. Written mostly about a "relationship" a friend of mine "almost had." Check out the slide whistle. I Auto-Tuned it (that's pitch correction software), and played it live. I was getting sick of those drum loop sample things, so I sniffed and coughed and hit the back of my guitar. Not the best production ever, but hopefully it's ... disarming and sincere. Or awful and inexcusable – Steve Burns

[ instrumental  1:14 minutes ]

No I will not go quietly
I object wholeheartedly
So do as you must
Shoot your darts
Put me to sleep
Just give me a head start

I've seen enough my eyes are full
I've seen enough my eyes are full
So what do you do when it's all done
Where do you go when you're all gone
Where do you go when you're all gone
Where do you go when you're all gone
When you're all gone
When you're all gone
When you're all gone
When you're all gone

My Eyes Are Full... that one would have made it,
but I ran out of time. I like that one
– Steve Burns

Look out man here she comes

For the love of God
I think I don't know what to say
Cause she walked in and the badness went away
She walked in with the light around her hair
I should mind my business but I think I'm gonna stare

So come on
Talk to me
You need a reason
Well I could give you one hundred and three
Awww come on
Go with me
'Tis the season
And I think you should have Dirty Hair Breakfast with me

I came in that way
But I won't leave alone
Can't help but feel that you're not really on your phone
You'd like me better if I could get you home
We'd get it on, bang a gong, get it on...
[laugh] ooppss

So come on
Talk to me
You need a reason
Well I could give you one hundred and three
So come on
Go with me
'Tis the season
I want you to have Dirty Hair Breakfast with meeeeeeeeeeeeee

[ instrumental ]

So pleeeaaaasssse
Go with me
I'm on my kneeeees
And I said please
I said pleeeeease

Dirty Hair Breakfast was never really a "song" intended for my
record. It was written as a demo for a co-worker's independent
dv short which never really happened. It was sort of an exercise...
it took about 3 hours and was very fun- but I don't think of it as
one of my songs –
Steve Burns

In the park all day
No dogs chasing us away
And our whiskers gone grey.  But with
Together: you
It's okay
Yeah, it's okay

[ acorn flute solo ]

I'm a squirrel
I'm a rat
And I
Together: think
I'm okay with that
Yeah I'm okay with that too
In the park all day
I'm okay with that
No dogs to chase us away
I'm okay with that
In the park all day
I'm okay with that.  I'm okay
No dogs to chase us away

(spoken) Yeah I'm okay.  Goodbye, I'll see you tomorrow ok
(spoken) Oh these nuts are good

Voice of Squirrel:   Paul Ford
Voice of Rat:   Steve Burns

I'm soft and brown and white and hairy
And I dig up 10 percent of what I bury
In the park

My best friend's a rat, a cat and a weasel
We got rabies, bubonic plague and the measles
In the park

I got the best nest in the old oak tree
So come on up and squirrel with me
In the dark
In the dark

So won't you pleaseeeeeeeeee
Look at my fleassssssssss
In the dark
[cracks up laughing]

[ whistling ]
[ instrumental ]

I'm soft and brown and white and hairy
And I dig up 10 percent of what I bury
In the park
In the park

So won't you pleaseeeeeeeeee
Look at my fleas

Won't you pleaseeeeeeeeee
Look at my fleassssssssss

In the dark
In the park
Where it's dark
And no dogs bark
In
New York
And there's sharks
Lots of sharks at the park
In the park where the sharks park

New York
Watch for the sharks
On the Ark

Sharks

Voice of Squirrel:   Paul Ford
